Trackoria's daily mini-game

How to play Trackdle

Trackdle is a quiz game about movies, series, anime and video games. You play it in Trackoria, the mobile app that gathers your movies, series, books and games in a single list. Every day brings a new game, the same for every player, made of four rounds, meaning four short challenges each scored out of 25 points.

A mobile app, on Android for now. The first 7 games are free. To keep playing after that, you need Trackoria+, the app's subscription: €2.99 a month or €29.99 a year, tax included.

Example

How to play

How a Trackdle round is played

  1. 01

    Read the instruction

Every round opens on a one-sentence instruction. The bar at the top names the round and its universe.

  2. 02

    Answer within 2 minutes

You have 2 minutes to answer, but the time is not shown. Only the True or false blitz round shows a countdown: 60 seconds to start, plus 5 with every answer. The clock keeps running if you leave the app, and once the 2 minutes are up, the round ends with the points already earned.

  3. 03

    See the answer

The right answer shows up at once, with a verdict and your points out of 25.

  4. 04

    Count your points

Each round is scored out of 25 points. At the end, the points of the four rounds add up to the day's base, a score out of 100.

  5. 05

Play four rounds in a row

Four different types out of seven, in universes the game picks. After the fourth, your score for the day appears.

Example

How the score works

Up to 100 points a day, multiplied from 3 days played in a row

Your streak counts the days you play in a row. At 3, 7, 14 and 30 days, it reaches a tier that multiplies your base, from ×1.10 at the first to ×1.25 at the last, and the result becomes your score for the day. A day without playing resets the streak to zero and takes that multiplier away.

Base out of 100×Streak=Today's score

The example day, base 80

Base 80/100 · streak ×1.15

7 days

80 × 1.15 = 92 pts

Next tier: ×1.2 at 14 days

  1. ×1.13 days
  2. ×1.157 days
  3. ×1.214 days
  4. ×1.2530 days, the maximum

So your score for the day can go past 100.

The rounds

The seven types of rounds

Each game picks four of them, all different.

  • The estimate

Aim as close as you can at a runtime, a number of episodes or a number of seasons, on a slider. The smaller the gap, the more the round pays.

  • Masked poster

Recognise a blurred poster and pick the right title. Every hint costs points.

  • Higher or lower

Compare two works on the measure the instruction gives, such as the runtime or the release year, and guess whether the second is above or below the first. Each right answer earns 5 points and opens the next comparison, up to five in all. The first mistake ends the round.

  • Right order

Sort four works by year, runtime, number of episodes or number of seasons. 6 points per work in its right place, and 1 more for the perfect order.

  • Odd one out

Three works share a genre or a decade: point out the fourth. All or nothing.

  • True or false blitz

Twelve statements in 60 seconds, plus 5 with every answer. Being right counts more than being fast.

  • Mystery year

Set the slider on the release year. The smaller the gap, the more the round pays.

Universes

Movies, series, anime and video games, mixed every day

The game picks the universe of each round. Two rounds can land on the same one, and a universe can be missing on some days.

  • Movies

    The figures in play

The runtime and the release year

  • Series

    The figures in play

The number of episodes or seasons, and the release year

  • Anime

    The figures in play

The number of episodes and the year

  • Video games

    The figures in play

    The release year

A monthly leaderboard between you and the accounts you follow

Trackoria lets you follow other accounts. With Trackoria+, a leaderboard adds up the scores of your games for the month and sets them against those of these accounts. This leaderboard is not public, nobody else is in it, and anyone can leave it in their privacy settings.

Example
Example
  • Read your verdict

The end-of-game screen shows your score for the day and a verdict. It reads “Perfect day” when you take all 100 points, “Flawless” when none of the four rounds is missed, and “Day complete” in every other case.

  • Share your result

As a story, a square image or copied text. Sharing shows your squares and your points, never the answers.

  • Keep the flame alive

From a 3-day streak, a notification reminds you around 4 pm, Paris time, when today's game is still waiting. You can turn it off in the settings.

  • Go further with Trackoria+

Two modes come on top of the daily game. Catch-up lets you replay a past day's game, just for fun, without earning points or lengthening your streak. Endless mode strings questions together for as long as you like, across every universe or the one you pick, with no effect on your score. Only your personal best is kept there.

Your streak, paused, not lost

Example

When you have played all your free games, or when your Trackoria+ subscription ends, your streak is not lost. It pauses and picks up again at your next game, with its days and its multiplier, even months later. Once your free games are used up, that next game needs Trackoria+. Outside this case, a day without playing resets the streak to zero.
